ABSTRACT:
1,3,4-Oxadiazole derivatives are one of the important nitrogen-containing heterocycles which has received growing attention in recent past because for their diverse biological activities. In this review, the most recent advances in the discovery of their therapeutic potential are addressed. literature witnessing the efficiency of 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives against different biological targets, as anticancer, antimicrobial, antidiabetic, anti-inflammatory and neuroprotective. These compounds have shown effective results especially against drug resistant pathogens, metabolic disorders and presented potential remedies for neurodegenerative diseases. 1,3,4-Oxadiazole derivatives have become prominently attractive in drug discovery and development due to their various biological activities. In this review, we summarize major findings from recent studies and provide an introduction to therapeutic applications and future directions. The features of their structure scaffolds make them attractive in the field drug discovery and medicinal chemistry.
