Formulation and Evaluation of Bioadhesive Buccal Drug Delivery of Sumatriptan Succinate Tablets

The objective of this study was to develop effective buccal tablets of Sumatriptan Succinate. Tablets of Sumatriptan Succinate were prepared by direct compression method using bioadhesive polymers like Poloxamer188, ß-CD, HPMC K4M. Buccal tablets were prepared by taking polymers in different ratios. The formulation F9 showed maximum drug release (98.92%) in 8 hrs. It was considered as optimized formulation.
